Greenhouse opened its doors this August, and is the newest addition to COUCH. The house currently holds nine bedrooms, with three additional rooms to be added by the next school year. Greenhouse is located ten minutes from the University of Illinois campus and is situated along the Green bus line.

As the newest co-op in town, the nine new Greenhouse members are trying to acclimate to the new way of life. This first generation is comprised of mostly undergrad and a few graduate students. Members not only share a house together, they share meals and responsibilities of living together.

Unlike Brooks and Harvest, Greenhouse is owned by a private landlord; all maintenance issues are handled by the landlord rather than the house members. However, minor maintenance is still taken care of by house members; housemates take part in weekly chores such as cleaning bathrooms, washing the dining room floor, and taking out the garbage. Members also take on coordinator positions, where they are responsible for house finances, maintenance, food shopping, membership, and labor.
